Abstractions Hybrids Studies Early Stuff
I sculpt in steel, using techniques of my own invention. My primary tool is the oxy-acetylene torch, which I use to shape, cut, join, and texture the steel, which comes in rods, tubes, and sheets.

I started working the day I awoke from a dream in which I was already a sculptor, displaying a collection of skeletal works. A few months later, I attempted art school, but quickly realized that I neither needed nor wanted instruction or input from others. What I was doing, I had to do alone.

There is a satisfaction in turning figments of my imagination into steel objects, but I sculpt primarily for the process itself. I attempt to incorporate a new challenge of some sort into each new piece, in terms of technique, composition, or both, which provides me with a sense of exploration. I also find that the concentration of continuous welding has meditative properties.
